Jen Eaton | Aspire
Jen Eaton is new to ASPIRE but not to UNSW, recently joining us from the School of Education where she helped practising teachers with their continued education and also ran holiday programs for students on campus. Jen will be based in Chester Hill as a Community Project Officer and is passionate about making education accessible to all.
Jen started her career after university teaching visual art and design in the north of England and travelling around Europe at every spare moment. On returning to teaching in Sydney her interest in the wider education system grew through comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the Australian and English systems. Deciding she needed to learn more, she went back to university to better her understanding of how education works beyond the classroom door. At the same time as she started her Masters she joined UNSW where she had the opportunity to put what she was learning into action.
Since her time at UNSW she also became a parent and found a whole new perspective to education, understanding that education is not only about a single student, but also about family and community, believing wholeheartedly that it takes a village to raise a child.
Jen is excited to join the community in Chester Hill, and learn about how UNSW can help build and support programs to foster a life-long love of learning. However, Jen will be sticking with her rugby league alliances and remaining a supporter of the Rabbitohs.
