What is the Toolkit? | Aspire

Q: What is the Teachers’ Toolkit?
A: A set of activities and resources for teachers of grades K-12.

Q: Can you tell me more about the activities?
A: The activities encourage students to think about their dreams for the future. They promote student understanding of the concept of university as a means of achieving educational and occupational life goals.

Q: Why was the toolkit developed?
A: The toolkit was produced to secure the legacy of ASPIRE in its mission to foster positive self-concepts in young people from disadvantaged communities. The ASPIRE program aims to address the under-representation of some parts of our society in Higher Education (HE).

Q: Does the toolkit aim to encourage students to attend UNSW specifically?
A: No. The toolkit aims to raise awareness about HE and HE providers in general. However, throughout the toolkit, references have been made to UNSW to provide a specific example of a university. Schools are encouraged to establish partnerships with other universities in their geographical area.
